Modern Warfare 4 skips Game Pass day one, Vault Edition 10% off

Activision confirmed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will not be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. Microsoft changed Game Pass subscription terms and removed day-one availability for Call of Duty releases, so the game will not appear on the service at release.

The publisher is offering a 10% loyalty discount on the Vault Edition, normally priced at $99/£99, to players who meet eligibility requirements. The reduction lowers the Vault Edition’s price by about $10 or £10 for qualifying buyers.

Eligible players include those who owned and played any Call of Duty edition from Modern Warfare (2019) through last year’s Black Ops 7. Players who claimed and played qualifying Call of Duty titles via PlayStation Plus Monthly Games also qualify. Currently active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC subscribers become eligible if they have played a qualifying Call of Duty title through Game Pass.

The Vault Edition contains a set of multiplayer DLC packs and the game’s first BlackCell battle pass for Season 1. Any pre-order of Modern Warfare 4, including the Vault Edition, grants early beta access ahead of launch.

Activision noted the title may arrive on Game Pass at a later date, potentially a year or more after release, but provided no firm timetable.

Players who meet eligibility criteria but do not see the discount at checkout are advised to consult Activision’s support resources and blog post for troubleshooting steps and instructions to confirm purchase and play history. The loyalty discount applies only to the Vault Edition and does not extend to standard editions of Modern Warfare 4.
