Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains delayed to June 30
Ubisoft delayed Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains to June 30, 2026, moving the Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 release from the previously announced June 11 date.
Ubisoft has pushed the release of Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains to June 30, 2026, and set that date for all platforms. The Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2 versions had been scheduled for June 11. An official message from Ubisoft reads: “Monopoly Star Wars Heroes vs Villains will now launch on June 30th. Thanks for your patience. We cannot wait to share it with you.” The game is developed by Behavior Interactive. Ubisoft’s update consolidates previously staggered platform release dates into a single launch day. Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains adapts classic Monopoly into a team-based experience. Players build teams from a roster of 28 Star Wars characters, each with one of 14 unique abilities. Matches are designed for competitive 2v2 and 3v3 play, available in couch co-op and online. New mechanics shown in preview materials include dice battles triggered when players land on the same space, and GO events that change property ownership during a match. The board features 22 locations presented as 3D dioramas spanning the Star Wars timeline, including Ewok Village, the Sandcrawler, Echo Base and the Jedi Temple. Ubisoft released a world premiere trailer and a gameplay trailer on April 30 that highlighted the title’s presentation and mechanics and named characters such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Vader and Darth Maul. Behavior Interactive has worked on licensed and multiplayer titles. Ubisoft has previously supported Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2. The publisher did not give a reason for the date change. Ubisoft and the developer have shared screenshots and details about missions, rewards and dynamic board events; they are expected to provide further launch information as June 30 approaches.
