Moon Studios delays No Rest for the Wicked to March 2027
Moon Studios delayed the PS5 1.0 launch of No Rest for the Wicked to March 2027 to improve performance, tighten class balance and finish polishing before a wider release.
Moon Studios has moved the PlayStation 5 1.0 launch of No Rest for the Wicked to March 2027, citing the need for additional development time to improve performance, tighten the class system and polish the game. The studio plans a simultaneous 1.0 release on PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The launch had been expected in October.
The game has been available in Early Access on PC via Steam for almost two years. Moon Studios used that period to collect player feedback and identify stability and balance issues in the class-driven systems.
In a community update, the studio wrote: “The honest truth is that we’re a small team, and we’re holding our games to a standard we won’t compromise on. We’re close, but close isn’t good enough for our full 1.0 launch. The extra time will help us improve performance, tighten the class system, and polish the whole game to the standard you all deserve. We’d rather take a few more months than ship something that we know isn’t quite perfect yet.”
CEO Thomas Maher addressed players in an accompanying video, describing extended playtesting and stating that “we’re not quite there yet.” Moon Studios plans additional closed and open beta tests before March, and confirmed a major beta scheduled for December.
The developer outlined compensation and pre-order incentives. Players who pre-purchase No Rest for the Wicked on PlayStation 5 or PC before January 1, 2027, will receive a founders pack; Moon Studios plans to publish exact reward details ahead of the 1.0 launch.
Moon Studios, known for the Ori series, said it will use the extra months to act on Early Access feedback and to address performance, class balance and overall polish before the full release.
