More God of War games starring Kratos are in development

Santa Monica Studio says new God of War entries starring Kratos are in development and a separate title will follow his late wife Faye through the gods’ afterlife, the Everywhen.

Santa Monica Studio confirmed it is developing more God of War games that center on Kratos and, separately, a new title focused on his late wife Faye as she travels through the gods’ afterlife, a plane the studio calls the Everywhen.

The studio revealed the information in a recent developer video and in a reply from its official social account. It noted Kratos will remain a core part of the franchise while the Faye project begins production as an independent story.

Cory Barlog, the studio’s Head of Creative, told viewers “there’s always going to be games about Kratos and we’re super excited about that.” Game Director Ariel Lawrence added “We can’t not tell stories about the big guy!” The studio’s social message said the team has “many more stories to tell” with Kratos and that it was “excited to take fans on a journey into the afterlife of the gods with Faye.”

No release window or platforms were announced. The studio’s comments point to multiple projects running at once: the Faye title exploring the Everywhen, ongoing work on a God of War Trilogy remake, and additional Kratos-led entries that remain in early planning or development.

Santa Monica Studio described the Faye game as a distinct narrative from future Kratos entries. Details on gameplay, platforms and release dates were not provided and will be disclosed at a later date.
