Moss: The Forgotten Relic coming to Switch without VR
Polyarc will release Moss: The Forgotten Relic on Switch 1 and Switch 2 this summer, bundling Moss and Moss: Book II into a non‑VR edition with enhanced visuals, new cutscenes and all DLC.
Polyarc announced Moss: The Forgotten Relic will arrive on Switch 1 and Switch 2 this summer. The package combines Moss and Moss: Book II into a non‑VR edition and will also appear on PC for the first time.
Players guide Quill, a small mouse, through diorama-like environments to solve puzzles, locate hidden areas and confront magical threats. The two games were originally released for virtual-reality headsets and have been adapted for standard controllers in this edition.
Polyarc listed enhanced visuals and improved performance for console play, newly created cutscenes, a smart follow camera designed for non‑VR presentation and inclusion of the Twilight Garden downloadable content. The package includes an optional skip-combat accessibility setting that lets players bypass combat encounters while retaining exploration and puzzle elements.
The developer described the reworked camera and cutscenes as adaptations of the original VR perspective for a conventional screen while retaining the handcrafted environments and sense of scale in the diorama scenes. Both main games are consolidated into a single purchase for the new platforms.
The publisher cites more than 160 awards and nominations for the series. Composer Jason Graves created the orchestral soundtrack that will accompany the updated release.
Polyarc has not provided a specific release date beyond summer or announced pricing. The title will be available on Switch 1 and Switch 2, with PC listed as a new platform.
