Muramasa: Revenant Blades for PS5 Arrives Early 2027

Vanillaware will release Muramasa: Revenant Blades on PS5 in early 2027, a 4K rework with revised combat, updated weapon systems and all six characters from the Vita port.

Vanillaware announced Muramasa: Revenant Blades for PlayStation 5, scheduled for early 2027. The edition is a reworked 4K release that adds revised combat mechanics, updated weapon systems and the content from the PlayStation Vita port.

The developer rebuilt the game to run in 4K and adjusted combat and weapon handling. Vanillaware indicated the changes will affect game balance and combat pacing compared with earlier versions.

All six playable characters from the Vita port are included. Four of those characters were originally released as downloadable content; in the PS5 edition every character is available from the start and each character’s story can be played in any order.

The announcement lists PlayStation 5 as the only platform and sets the release window as early 2027. It does not include pricing, a specific release date, or information on additional platforms. The developer did not provide details on save transfers, enemy behavior or other system-level changes.

Muramasa first launched on the Nintendo Wii and was later ported to PlayStation Vita with extra scenarios. Revenant Blades consolidates the Vita content and updates the title for modern hardware with a single PS5 release.
