Naughty Dog wraps cinematic motion capture for Intergalactic

Naughty Dog has completed cinematic motion-capture for its PS5 game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, its first new IP in 13 years, starring Tati Gabrielle as Jordan A. Mun.

Naughty Dog has completed cinematic motion-capture for its PlayStation 5 game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The project is the studio’s first original intellectual property in 13 years. Development began in 2020 after The Last of Us: Part II.

The studio announced the milestone on social media and shared a production portrait of lead actor Tati Gabrielle holding a prop blaster. Naughty Dog wrote, “That is a wrap on the very ambitious Intergalactic cinematic shoot! This cast killed it! Cannot wait to show you their incredible work when the time is right!”

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is described by the studio as a third-person action-adventure game with science-fiction elements. Players will take the role of bounty hunter Jordan A. Mun, stranded on the alien planet Sempiria.

The game was revealed at The Game Awards in 2025. Neil Druckmann is directing the project alongside game directors Matthew Gallant and Kurt Margenau. The cast includes Tati Gabrielle, Halley Gross, Kumail Nanjiani, Tony Dalton, Ashley Scott and Stephen A. Chang, with additional performances from Robin Atkin Downes, Merle Dandridge and Troy Baker.

Naughty Dog began work on Intergalactic while much of the studio was engaged on a multiplayer project for The Last of Us that was later canceled. The studio has indicated the game has been in steady production since 2020.

The studio did not provide further production timelines or gameplay footage in the social post. Naughty Dog has not announced an official release date; a prior report suggested a mid-2027 target, but that timing remains unconfirmed. Intergalactic is currently announced only for PlayStation 5.

Sony has scheduled a State of Play showcase in September; the studio has not confirmed whether it will present new footage there.
