NBA 2K25 Will Leave PlayStation Store Before Shutdown
NBA 2K25 will leave the PlayStation Store on October 30, 2026, before its servers close on January 1, 2027, making the game unavailable online and offline.
NBA 2K25, a PlayStation Plus monthly game in June 2025, will be removed from sale on October 30, 2026. Its servers will close permanently on January 1, 2027.
The shutdown will disable the game’s online features and in-game purchases on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. MyCareer, the game’s single-player campaign, will also become unavailable because player upgrades require virtual currency and the mode depends on online services.
Players who want to continue their MyCareer campaigns have until October 30 to buy virtual currency or other in-game items. After that date, NBA 2K25 will no longer be available through the PlayStation Store.
The server closure will also set a deadline for players working toward the game’s trophy list and Platinum trophy. Some trophies may require online features that become unavailable before January 1, 2027.
2K announced the sales removal and server closure in September 2025. NBA 2K25 was released in September 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and other platforms.
The NBA 2K series uses online services for MyCareer, multiplayer modes and virtual-currency purchases. After those services end, NBA 2K25 will not provide an accessible version of MyCareer or its online features.
