Need for Speed Payback on PS Store Now $5.99
Need for Speed Payback for PS4 is discounted to $5.99 on the PlayStation Store, a 70% reduction available through Sept. 24, 2026; price returns to $19.99 afterward.
Electronic Arts’ 2017 open-world racer Need for Speed Payback for PS4 is on sale on the PlayStation Store for $5.99, a 70% discount that runs through Sept. 24, 2026. After the sale ends the standard edition will return to its regular $19.99 price.
The discounted listing applies to the base game only and includes the full single-player campaign set in Fortune Valley, a fictional area inspired by Las Vegas. The game’s campaign follows three playable characters and their missions to confront a criminal organisation known as The House.
Players switch between three protagonists — Tyler, Mac and Jess — who specialise in different types of driving assignments. The game presents an open-world map with highways, desert stretches, city streets and off-road terrain. Events in the base package include street races, drag races, drift competitions, speed zones, long jumps and billboard-smashing challenges. The game has a mechanic for locating derelict cars across the map and restoring them into upgraded vehicles.
Need for Speed Payback includes an online mode called Speedlist that lets users compete against others in timed events. Online multiplayer requires an active PlayStation Plus subscription. The discounted price does not apply to the Deluxe edition, which remains listed at $29.99 and bundles a story mission pack, exclusive customization items and a Platinum Car pack.
On the PlayStation Store the title has an average user rating of about 4.02 out of 5 based on more than 76,000 reviews. The sale runs through Sept. 24, 2026; shoppers who wait until after that date will find the standard edition priced at $19.99.
