New Fallout With Obsidian Could Arrive on PlayStation 6

Bethesda confirmed in a studio letter posted to social media that it is developing a new Fallout title with Obsidian Entertainment. The company provided no release window or list of target platforms.

The announcement appeared alongside details about ongoing updates for Fallout 76 and plans to remaster Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

Bethesda wrote, “The wasteland continues to expand as we team up once again with our longtime friends at Obsidian Entertainment. We’re happy to confirm they’re working with us on a new Fallout project. We’ll have more to share in the future.” The studio did not describe the scope or format of the new project.

Obsidian developed Fallout: New Vegas. Since that release, Obsidian has produced Pillars of Eternity and its sequel, The Outer Worlds, Grounded, and is developing Avowed.

No technical specifications or platform plans have been announced. The absence of platform details has led some fans to speculate the title could appear on PlayStation 6 when Sony next releases a console, though Bethesda and Obsidian have not commented on platform plans.

The studio letter stated more information will be shared later; Bethesda did not link the new game to the remasters or the update schedule for Fallout 76.
