Ninja Gaiden 2 Black PS5 Remaster Half Price on PS Store

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is available on the PlayStation Store for $24.99 through Aug. 13. The sale reduces the remaster’s regular PlayStation Store price to half; after Aug. 13 the listing returns to $49.99.

Koei Tecmo published the remaster, which launched in 2025 and was redesigned for modern consoles. The PS5 edition is Pro enhanced and offers cloud streaming to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers.

The remaster adds material from the original game’s spinoffs and three playable characters: Momiji, Ayane and Rachel. A “hero play style” option is included to assist players who find the game’s default difficulty challenging.

An official overview reads: “Take on the role of Ryu Hayabusa, a ninja who has inherited the legendary Dragon Sword and takes on battles across the world. Players can enjoy high-speed, violent action using a wide variety of weapons and techniques, including Japanese swords, shurikens, Kusari-gamas, and tonfas.”

Critical and player reception since the 2025 release has been generally positive. On Metacritic the PS5 remaster holds a score of 80 out of 100. The PlayStation Store lists an average user rating of 4.53 out of 5 based on nearly 8,000 votes.

The discount applies only on the PlayStation Store and only until Aug. 13. After that date the game will return to its standard $49.99 listing on the store.
