Ninjala: The Uncharted Planet Adds Single-Player Mode
Nintendo and GungHo announced Ninjala: The Uncharted Planet for Nintendo Switch, a standalone Ninjala game with a single-player story mode due next spring.
Nintendo and third-party developers announced Ninjala: The Uncharted Planet for Nintendo Switch. The standalone title will include a single-player story mode and is scheduled for release next spring; no firm date has been given.
The announcement lists GungHo Online Entertainment among the developers working on the project. The new entry follows the original free-to-play Ninjala, which launched on the Switch as an online multiplayer action game and has received updates and collaborations since release.
The publisher describes The Uncharted Planet as a standalone release that shifts emphasis from the franchise’s multiplayer format to a single-player narrative while remaining on the Switch platform. Beyond the title, platform and the presence of a story mode, the announcement provided only a spring release window.
The original Ninjala has hosted periodic content drops and tie-ins with other franchises. Recent collaborations included a Tokyo Revengers event that offered themed items and character costumes for a limited period and an Attack on Titan collaboration that coincided with the game reaching 10 million downloads.
Developers have not disclosed the single-player campaign’s plot, length, or how gameplay will differ from the multiplayer title. Technical details such as art style, progression systems and any monetization model for The Uncharted Planet have not been released.
Nintendo and its partners are expected to share additional information ahead of the spring launch. Meanwhile, the existing Switch release will continue to run timed events and collaborations until further notice.
