About 40% of Tomodachi Life Players on Switch 2

Nintendo reports about 40% of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream players are on Nintendo Switch 2; the game sold over 3.8 million copies in its first two weeks.

Nintendo reported that about 40% of players of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream are playing on Nintendo Switch 2. The social-simulation title sold more than 3.8 million copies worldwide in its first two weeks after launching on Switch in April.

The figures are included in Nintendo’s latest financial results. In the report, the company wrote: “Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream had solid release, with global sell-through surpassing 3.8 million units in the first two weeks. Although released as a Nintendo Switch title, approximately 40% of players are Nintendo Switch 2 owners.”

Nintendo noted there is no separate Switch 2 edition; the same version released for the Switch is being played on both systems.

Players on Switch 2 report modest technical differences, including faster loading times and support for GameChat.

The company provided system-sales context alongside the game update. Nintendo reported Switch 2 sales of about 19.86 million units and total sales for the Switch family at 155.92 million units over nine years.

All of the figures appeared in the company’s financial report accompanying the sales update.
