Nintendo releases Alarmo firmware 4.0.0 with random favorites

Firmware 4.0.0 for Nintendo Alarmo adds ‘Random Selection from Favorites,’ changes alarm scene selection order, and fixes several issues; posted May 19, 2026 on Nintendo’s Japanese support page.

Nintendo released firmware Version 4.0.0 for its Alarmo sound clock on May 19, 2026. The update appears on the company’s Japanese support page and is the first Alarmo firmware release of 2026 following a patch in October 2025.

The changelog adds a new feature called ‘Random Selection from Favorites.’ When enabled, the clock will play a different favorite alarm scene on different days rather than repeating the same scene each day. The firmware also changes the alarm scene selection flow to ‘select a title first, then select an alarm scene.’

Nintendo’s notes say the update resolves multiple issues and improves operational stability. At the time of publication, separate English-language patch notes were not available.

Users who own Alarmo can install the firmware through the device’s system update mechanism or follow Nintendo’s support guidance to apply the new version. Alarmo offers themed sounds and visuals based on Nintendo properties, including Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda.

Alarmo launched in 2024 and is sold through Nintendo’s online store and select retail locations. The device is marketed as a themed sound clock that emphasizes branded audio and visual elements rather than precision timekeeping.
