Nintendo Direct June 2026: Games, dates and demos

Nintendo’s 50-minute June 2026 Direct revealed new games, release dates and demos, including a Star Fox demo, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen and Xenoblade Genesis.

Nintendo streamed a 50-minute Direct in June 2026 that announced new games, release dates, demos and Switch 2 editions. The presentation included trailers, DLC windows and platform-specific features for both Nintendo Switch and the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo confirmed several concrete release dates. Rhythm Heaven Groove will launch July 2, Onimusha: Way of the Sword is due Sept. 25, and Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will arrive Oct. 9. Stellar Blade remains slated for 2026. Nintendo announced Xenoblade Genesis as a 2027 exclusive for Nintendo Switch 2 and began rolling out Nintendo Switch 2 editions of earlier Xenoblade titles: the digital upgrade and Switch 2 edition of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition are available immediately with a physical release on July 30; Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Nintendo Switch 2 editions are scheduled for July 30 and Dec. 3, respectively.

The Direct included playable content and DLC timing. A free Star Fox demo went live June 25 and contains a tutorial plus one opening stage. Pokémon Pokopia received the paid Expansion Pass Part 1, Bubbly Basin, planned for August, and a free August update will add the Dive move to access underwater areas. SnowRunner released on Nintendo Switch 2 the day of the Direct with a free upgrade for digital purchasers, Nintendo Account save transfer support, announced future crossplay and mod support and continued Season Pass content.

Nintendo and developers highlighted Switch 2 hardware features. Several titles will use Joy‑Con 2 motion and gyro controls, including Onimusha and Stellar Blade. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Observer: System Redux will support Joy‑Con 2 mouse input and optional motion controls. Multiple ports and remasters were described as enhanced for higher visual fidelity and performance on the new hardware.

Third-party and indie releases received dates and windows. FromSoftware announced a new PvPvE action title, The Duskbloods, for 2026. Final Fantasy Resonance (an HD‑2D turn‑based title) targets Oct. 22. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is due Holiday 2026. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, which includes the first official port of Metal Gear Solid 4, is set for Aug. 27. Deltarune Chapter 5 released June 24. Other announced entries include Lies of P: Complete Edition on Aug. 6, Pikuniku 2 in 2027, Muramasa: Revenant Blades in 2027 and RuneScape: Dragonwilds on Sept. 15.

Family and co‑op titles and event windows were also announced. One Piece: Grand Gourmet will release Oct. 23, Hello Kitty Party Land on Oct. 29 and co‑op walker‑talker Big Walk on Aug. 4. Splatoon Raiders has a July 23 release date and will receive a focused presentation on June 30. Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet is scheduled for spring 2027. Limited-time Donkey Kong challenge events and Nintendo Switch Online collectible Challenge Cards run through Sept. 1.

The Direct focused on trailers, release information and immediate demo availability. Developers and Nintendo provided dates for retail and digital launches, upgrade paths to Nintendo Switch 2 editions and windows for DLC and events, with further gameplay details to arrive with demos and subsequent releases.
