Nintendo launches DK Challenge on Switch Online and Bananza
Nintendo begins the DK Challenge on Nintendo Switch Online and Donkey Kong Bananza on June 10, running through Sept. 1, with timed tasks that award digital challenge cards.
Nintendo announced the DK Challenge during a Direct presentation. The event runs from 10 June through 1 September and offers timed tasks in classic Donkey Kong titles and Donkey Kong Bananza that award digital challenge cards.
The challenge goes live 10 June at 2 a.m. BST / 3 a.m. CET / 6 p.m. PT (9 June) / 9 p.m. ET (9 June). Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can access the challenges from the Nintendo Switch Online home page at the bottom of the console’s main menu.
Challenges cover multiple Nintendo Switch Online titles and vary in difficulty. Examples include carrying Barrels to the top of a level in Donkey Kong Country 2 and completing the mine cart stage in Donkey Kong Country. Donkey Kong Bananza hosts its own objectives, split into beginner tasks and tougher “Developer Challenges” for experienced players.
A limited-time Mario-themed crossover will run inside Donkey Kong Bananza’s Emerald Rush DLC. The first wave runs 9–30 June. Additional windows will run 14–21 July, 4–11 August and 25 August–1 September. Players can earn exclusive Donkey Kong and Pauline outfits and find Power-Up Blocks and Mushrooms on DK Island during those dates.
Successful challenge completions yield digital challenge cards delivered through Nintendo Switch Online. The event is available to subscribers and to players of Donkey Kong Bananza during the listed dates.
Nintendo has previously offered timed challenge campaigns on Nintendo Switch Online that pair classic games with limited-time objectives and digital rewards.
