Nintendo fixes Index page lock in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
Nintendo released version 1.0.1 on June 9 to fix a bug that could trap players on the Index page after the game’s explanation, following reports after the Switch 2 launch.
Nintendo released version 1.0.1 of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book on June 9, 2026. The update is listed on the company’s support page as Ver. 1.0.1 and is the first patch since the game’s Switch 2 release in May.
The patch addresses a single issue: under specific conditions players could become unable to exit the game’s Index page after receiving the in-game explanation. Nintendo’s patch notes state that the problem has been fixed.
Company notices described the sequence that could trigger the lock. The issue can occur when a player begins the Bird of Paradise investigation before hearing the Index explanation from the character Fukashigi, then ends that investigation without making major discoveries. The Index explanation appears after a total of four chapters are cleared; after that point affected players could lose the ability to leave the Index page.
Nintendo acknowledged the problem at the end of May, saying it had received multiple inquiries and was preparing update data to resolve the issue. In its notice Nintendo wrote, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and trouble this has caused, and ask for your patience.”
The 1.0.1 patch notes list only the Index page fix. Players who encountered the bug should install the update to continue progress.
Nintendo also noted an in-store demo for the game is available at Switch 2 kiosks in select locations.
