Nintendo Adds Free Month to U.S. Switch Expansion Pack Yearly

Nintendo will credit one extra month to U.S. Switch Online + Expansion Pack accounts that purchase or renew a 12-month individual or family membership before July 28, 2026. The bonus applies to new purchases, redemptions and renewals of the premium Expansion Pack tier.

Eligible account holders who upgrade from the standard Switch Online plan to the Expansion Pack can receive the extra month by completing a year-long subscription. Existing Expansion Pack subscribers become eligible if they renew their subscription or add another 12 months to their account. Nintendo’s announcement says the bonus month will appear on qualifying accounts within three business days after activation.

Some other countries are offering different promotions. For example, Australia and certain additional markets are providing two extra months with a 12-month Expansion Pack purchase or renewal.

The Expansion Pack tier includes online multiplayer access, voice chat via GameChat and curated libraries of retro titles from systems such as the Nintendo 64. The service recently added Donkey Kong 64 to its N64 collection and also offers access to extras including Nintendo Music for members.

To receive the bonus month, customers must complete the purchase or redemption of a 12-month individual or family Expansion Pack membership by the July 28, 2026 deadline. After the transaction is processed, Nintendo will apply the additional month automatically to eligible accounts within the stated timeframe.
