Nintendo: More Switch 2 games planned for H2 of fiscal year
Nintendo plans additional Switch 2 titles, including smaller or non‑major games, in the second half of the fiscal year, President Shuntaro Furukawa told investors.
Nintendo told investors it is preparing additional Nintendo Switch 2 titles for the second half of the fiscal year, including smaller or non‑”major” games, according to a Q&A transcript released with its FY2026 financial results.
President Shuntaro Furukawa acknowledged that software development periods have become longer compared with previous years and said the company will seek to speed delivery through changes to its development system and processes. A machine‑translated excerpt of the Q&A reads: “Ideally, we would like to deliver new titles more frequently and in a more timely manner, but as you pointed out, software development periods have become longer than before. Even so, we will continue to work on various initiatives to ensure that many titles can be played on Nintendo Switch 2, by devising improvements to our development system and development process.”
Nintendo has announced several upcoming Switch 2 releases, including new entries in the Yoshi, Splatoon and Fire Emblem series. Mario and Zelda do not appear on the set of titles Nintendo has publicly listed for the platform.
When discussing release size and pricing, the company cited Splatoon Raiders and Star Fox as examples of different approaches to scope and pricing for first‑party games.
The transcript does not name any unannounced games or provide a detailed release schedule. Furukawa said additional titles are prepared for the second half of the fiscal year and that Nintendo will share details “at the appropriate time.”
