Nintendo releases movie-style poster for Star Fox remake

Nintendo released a movie-style poster for its Switch 2 Star Fox remake showing the Great Fox orbiting a red planet, listing team members and the June 25, 2026 release date.

Nintendo released a movie-inspired poster for the Switch 2 Star Fox remake that shows the Great Fox airship orbiting a red planet. The artwork includes the caption “Nintendo Presents” above the game title, names Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Slippy Toad and Peppy Hare, and displays the June 25, 2026 release date.

The poster presents a cinematic design focused on atmosphere: the Great Fox appears alone against a crimson planetary backdrop with no combat or explosions depicted. The layout and typography reference classic film-poster styles.

Nintendo is publishing the remake in partnership with developer Velan Studios. The project is described as a close remake of the Nintendo 64 title Lylat Wars, retaining the original routes and mission structure while providing upgraded graphics and a small set of modern enhancements.

A demo of the remake is available now through the Switch 2 eShop, allowing players to sample the updated presentation and controls ahead of the full release.

Nintendo has also announced a new version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for 2026; the company has not disclosed whether that project will be a faithful remake or a broader reimagining.

Star Fox debuted on the Nintendo 64 under the title Lylat Wars and introduced the Great Fox mothership as part of the series’ core setting. The Switch 2 release preserves the original game’s routes and characters while updating visuals and some mechanics for current hardware.

The full game launches on June 25, 2026, with the demo remaining available on the Switch 2 eShop.
