Nintendo released Pictonico on iOS and Android. The app turns users’ photos into short, timed minigames and is available on the App Store and Google Play.

The free demo contains three challenges. Two paid Volume Packs add 80 additional challenges available via in-app purchase.

Each minigame asks players to quickly manipulate faces or images to meet simple, often surreal goals before a timer ends. Demo examples include making a face eat a kebab, lick a lollipop, or get its hair lathered. Gameplay emphasizes speed and simple interactions.

The mechanics have drawn comparisons to fast-paced minigame collections such as WarioWare. The app applies overlays and interactive prompts to user photos to create each task; each challenge is governed by a countdown that encourages repeated playthroughs to improve scores.

Early impressions described the app as “a harmless bit of fun so far” and noted that the free content is “a little more restrictive than we had initially expected.”

Nintendo has not announced further updates or a roadmap for additional free content. Users can download the free demo now and purchase the Volume Packs to access the full set of challenges.
