Nintendo will raise prices for the Switch 2 and other Switch models worldwide, effective May 25 in Japan and Sept. 1 in western markets; Switch Online fees rise in Japan July 1, 2026.

Nintendo announced global price increases for the Switch 2 and other Switch models, with hardware price changes taking effect May 25 in Japan and Sept. 1 in western markets. The company also disclosed higher Nintendo Switch Online membership fees in Japan, effective July 1, 2026.

In Japan, Nintendo provided new retail prices for each console model. The Switch 2 will increase from ¥49,980 to ¥59,980. The Switch OLED model will rise from ¥37,980 to ¥47,980. The original Switch will move from ¥32,978 to ¥43,980, and the Switch Lite will go from ¥21,978 to ¥29,980.

For western markets, Nintendo listed the new Switch 2 prices by region. In the United States the price will rise from $449.99 to $499.99. In Canada the Switch 2 will increase from CA$629.99 to CA$679.99. In Europe the price will change from €469.99 to €499.99. Nintendo confirmed similar pricing adjustments will be applied in South Korea but did not provide specific figures for that market.

Nintendo outlined changes to Nintendo Switch Online membership fees in Japan. Individual monthly plans will increase from ¥306 to ¥400, three-month plans from ¥815 to ¥1,000, and annual individual plans from ¥2,400 to ¥3,000. The family annual plan will rise from ¥4,500 to ¥5,800. Expansion Pack annual prices will also increase: the Individual Expansion Pack will go from ¥4,900 to ¥5,900 and the Family Expansion Pack from ¥8,900 to ¥9,900.

The company attributed the adjustments to “changes in market conditions” and the “global business outlook.” In a statement, Nintendo apologized: “We sincerely apologize for the impact these price revisions may have on our customers and other stakeholders, and we deeply appreciate your understanding.”

Nintendo has not published equivalent subscription price changes for western markets, and the company did not provide forecasts for how the price revisions will affect hardware sales or subscription numbers. The revised hardware prices will be applied in South Korea soon, with further details to be announced at a later date.
