Nintendo renames My Nintendo Store to Nintendo Store
Nintendo will rename My Nintendo Store to Nintendo Store in Japan, Europe, Australia and New Zealand on May 27. The company says the change will not affect content or offerings.
Nintendo announced it will rename My Nintendo Store to Nintendo Store in Japan, Europe, Australia and New Zealand effective May 27.
Nintendo stated the change affects only the store name and will not alter products, digital content or other service elements. Customers in the listed regions should find the same catalog, purchase options and account links after the update.
Nintendo indicated the Nintendo Store name may be adopted in additional regions at a later date but provided no timetable for a wider rollout.
The rebrand applies to the online store’s branding rather than its operations. Nintendo noted there will be no alterations to shipping policies, product lines or account functionality associated with the name change.
The company operates a flagship physical store in Tokyo and has announced plans for a second Japanese location, Nintendo Osaka. Nintendo also runs the Nintendo World Store in New York City and has previously operated dedicated online shops for its hardware and accessories.
Nintendo did not offer further explanation for the renaming. Customers who use My Nintendo Store in the affected markets can expect the same content and purchasing process when the Nintendo Store name takes effect on May 27.
