Nintendo announced Nintendo Switch Sports Resort for the Switch 2, reviving Wuhu Island and offering 12 sports-based mini-games. The title is scheduled for release on Oct. 22, 2026, and is available for pre-order on the console’s eShop.
Nintendo presents the package as a new version of Wii Sports Resort built for the Switch 2. The game uses the console’s Joy-Con 2 controls and lets players select a Sportsmate avatar or a Mii for each event.
The 12 events are Boxing, Table Tennis, Archery, Tennis, Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball, Golf, Thumb Wrestling, Skateboarding, Power Cruising and Prop Plane. Nintendo designed varied control schemes for specific events: Skateboarding uses mouse-style inputs, Thumb Wrestling requires holding a single Joy-Con 2 upright, and Prop Plane uses tilt-based motion. A Jump Rope warm-up mini-game is available before matches.
Wuhu Island, the resort map that first appeared in the Wii Sports Resort era, is included in the game. Nintendo previously released Nintendo Switch Sports in 2022 as an updated take on the original Wii Sports concept.
The game is listed for pre-order on the Switch 2 eShop ahead of its Oct. 22, 2026 launch. Players who reserve the title on the digital storefront will receive it as part of the Switch 2’s software lineup later this year.
