Nintendo patches Tomodachi Life on Switch to v1.0.2
Nintendo released Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream update v1.0.2 for Switch on May 14, 2026, fixing save-data corruption and several gameplay bugs.
Nintendo released version 1.0.2 of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream for Nintendo Switch on May 14, 2026. The update addresses multiple gameplay bugs and several errors that could corrupt or block access to save data. According to Nintendo’s patch notes, the update fixes cases where island progress could halt after a player developed their island or changed a house exterior at the Palette House.
The patch also corrects two specific save errors that could display the messages “your save data is corrupted” or “data has been corrupted,” which in some instances prevented players from saving after events such as a successful Mii confession or when multiple Miis began living together.
The update repairs rare crashes and a scene-switching error that occasionally caused the game to stop. Nintendo fixed an Island Builder issue that allowed the wishing fountain to be stored but not placed again, which prevented wishes from being granted. Several character behavior bugs were corrected, including a case where a Mii’s crush would disappear after failing to reconcile with another Mii and a case where a Mii did not appear to recover when its Sadness meter ran out.
Local play was restored for sending and receiving items following a connectivity fix. The patch also replaces an incorrect image for the treasure item labeled “sugar glider,” which had been displayed using the image of a southern flying squirrel. Nintendo’s notes say other unspecified issues were fixed to improve gameplay stability. Nintendo did not provide a timeline for future updates.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a Mii-based life-simulation release on Switch; version 1.0.2 is the first public patch since launch to explicitly target save-data corruption and the related gameplay issues reported by players.
