Nintendo probes progress-locking bug in Yoshi for Switch 2

Nintendo is investigating reports of a bug in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book for Switch 2 that can lock players on the game’s index page. The company acknowledged multiple inquiries on its official customer support account and said it is preparing an update to resolve the issue.
Nintendo reported the bug appears under a specific sequence of events tied to an in-game index explanation. Players can trigger the problem by beginning an investigation of the Bird of Paradise before hearing an index explanation from a character named Fukashigi and then ending that investigation without making major discoveries. The index explanation occurs after clearing a total of four chapters, and some players become unable to exit the index page afterward, halting progress.
In a social media message, Nintendo wrote: “We are currently preparing an update to fix this issue, and will inform you again as soon as it is ready. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and trouble this has caused, and ask for your patience.” The company said it has confirmed the issue under the conditions described and is investigating further.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book launched last week for the Switch 2. Nintendo did not provide a timeline for the patch or offer a temporary workaround in its initial notice.
Nintendo said it will publish update notes and further details once the fix is ready. The company also noted a demo of the game is available at Switch 2 kiosks in select retail locations for players who have not yet tried it.
