Moon Studios’ No Rest for the Wicked delayed on Xbox Series S

Moon Studios says the Xbox release of No Rest for the Wicked is delayed to allow optimization for Xbox Series S; PC and PS5 1.0 releases remain scheduled for October.

Moon Studios has postponed the Xbox release of No Rest for the Wicked to focus on performance optimization for the Xbox Series S. The studio plans to release the 1.0 build for PC and PlayStation 5 in October.

In a Discord message to a fan, Moon Studios CEO Thomas Mahler wrote, “Series S is making that rough. We’ll ship it after in a good way once it’s optimized like crazy for Switch 2 and Xbox.” Mahler did not provide a firm release date for the Xbox version.

Mahler previously indicated the studio expected to omit Xbox from the initial 1.0 launch because of what he described as “current market conditions” and noted that creating a full console port consumes substantial resources. The studio says it will complete additional optimization work before publishing the Xbox build.

Moon Studios has not outlined specific technical changes planned for the Series S or Switch 2 versions. The developer confirmed the October 1.0 launch on PC and PS5 remains on schedule and said it will provide further updates on Xbox and Switch 2 timing and compatibility.

No Rest for the Wicked is the follow-up title from the team behind the Ori series. Players on Xbox Series S and Nintendo’s next console will need to wait for the studio to announce a release date and technical details.
