No Rest for the Wicked: PS5 launch precedes Xbox, Switch
Moon Studios will release No Rest for the Wicked on PS5 in October. Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 editions will follow after optimisation, with Series S hardware named as the constraint.
Moon Studios confirmed its action RPG No Rest for the Wicked will arrive on PS5 in October after a presentation during Sony’s State of Play.
The studio clarified on its Discord channel that the PS5 release will be the only console launch in October. Versions for Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 are planned for later once those ports are optimised.
Director Thomas Mahler wrote on Discord that “Series S is making [a simultaneous release] rough. We’ll ship it after in a good way once it’s optimised like crazy for Switch 2 and Xbox.” He identified the Series S and the yet-to-launch Switch 2 as the main technical constraints for a simultaneous multi-console release.
Moon Studios described the staggered timing as a development decision rather than the result of an exclusivity agreement with Sony.
The studio did not provide specific release dates for the Xbox Series X|S or Switch 2 editions. Moon Studios said it will release those versions after further optimisation work and will provide updates as development progresses.
