Leaker: Ocarina of Time Remake for Switch 2 May Ship in Two Parts

A leaker claims a remake of Ocarina of Time built for Nintendo Switch 2 may arrive in two parts — Child Link and Adult Link — with Monolith Soft and a June reveal.

A leaker claims a ground-up remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is being developed for Nintendo’s next console and may be released in two separate parts covering Link’s childhood and adult storylines. The report names Monolith Soft as a development partner and points to a reveal during a June Nintendo Direct, followed by a possible year-end release.

The details were posted by Nash Weedle, who credits an earlier tip to another source, NateDrake. Weedle says he first learned of the project in 2022 but did not disclose it at the time.

Weedle describes the remake as built from scratch for the Switch 2 rather than a simple port or remaster. He identifies Monolith Soft as assisting Nintendo on the project and indicates the publisher plans to announce the title during a June Direct presentation, with the game arriving near the end of the year.

The post suggests the remake could be split into two releases, with the first focusing on Child Link and the second on Adult Link. Weedle frames that two-part structure as a possibility rather than a confirmed plan.

Weedle’s track record is described as spotty, and Nintendo has not confirmed the claims. The report remains unverified until Nintendo or its development partners provide official information on the project, platforms, timing or scope.

The original Ocarina of Time launched on Nintendo 64 in 1998 and has appeared in subsequent releases, including a Nintendo 3DS version. A rebuild created specifically for new hardware would represent a more extensive reconstruction than past ports, and could include updated graphics, audio and gameplay changes designed for the Switch 2’s capabilities.

Observers seeking confirmation should watch Nintendo’s scheduled Direct events in June for any official announcement.
