Capcom released a demo of Onimusha: Way of the Sword for Xbox Series X|S on June 2, 2026. The demo lets players use Oni Armament attacks and face the boss Sasaki Ganryu. Capcom developed and published the demo under CAPCOM CO., LTD.
Saved progress from the demo cannot be carried over to the retail game, but Capcom’s demo page states that players who keep demo save data will receive the in-game Charm: Kubi Akari when the full game launches. Equipping charms strengthens the protagonist Miyamoto Musashi’s abilities.
The demo is optimized for Xbox Series X and S, with 4K Ultra HD support, HDR10, a single-player mode running at more than 60 frames per second, and spatial audio options including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Xbox cloud saves are supported for the demo.
The title is rated Mature 17+ with content advisories for blood and gore, suggestive themes, strong language and intense violence. The demo listing also notes in-game purchases and that publishers receive access to Xbox profile information while the game is played.
Capcom’s demo page notes the build differs in some respects from the final release but does not specify the changes. The demo provides an early look at combat mechanics and a boss encounter ahead of the base game’s release.
