Publisher Good Smile Company and developer Chime Corporation released a trailer and posted preorder details with the release date.
The PlayStation Store will offer two digital editions: a standard edition priced at about $34.99 and a deluxe edition at about $39.99. The standard edition includes a copy of the game. The deluxe edition adds a 30-track soundtrack that includes the opening theme The Case Files, composed by Kenji Kawai, and provides 72-hour early access starting Sept. 14.
The game supports English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.
Players can replay key scenes from the Patlabor story through Main Missions and Side Missions. Missions can be played as members of Special Vehicles Section 2 or from opposing forces.
Players will pilot Labors including the Ingram, Griffon and Type Zero in mecha combat.
A Simulator Mode offers Labor-versus-Labor battles with more than 20 playable characters and a target-practice option to hone piloting skills. The trailer includes gameplay clips and cinematic sequences tied to the franchise narrative.
This is the franchise’s first major game release since Patlabor: Come Back Mini-Pato on PSP in 2005. The title will be distributed digitally on the announced platforms.
