Perceptum heads to PS5 in 2027 with pocket-mirror horror
Perceptum, a three-hour horror game from Duck Reaction, will arrive on PS5 in 2027. Players use a pocket mirror to reveal ghosts while investigating a missing family.
Duck Reaction plans to release Perceptum on PlayStation 5 in 2027. The studio describes the title as a short-form horror experience that runs about three hours. Players assume the role of a Medium investigating a missing family inside an abandoned house.
Gameplay centers on a pocket mirror that reveals ghosts and hidden traces invisible to the naked eye. There is no combat; the mirror and avoidance are the primary interaction tools.
Perceptum includes an eye-closing mechanic that functions as a risk-and-reward system. At moments the character must close their eyes to reveal routes or clues; while blind the player cannot respond to threats. Duck Reaction presents the mechanic as one that requires choosing between short-term safety and uncovering hidden information.
The studio described the game’s intended tone as “discomfort, uncertainty, and the feeling that something is always just out of sight” and said the design emphasizes atmosphere and tension rather than combat.
A PC playtest is available by request. The playtest showcases core mechanics, including mirror revelations and the eye-closing feature, and accepts player feedback ahead of the PS5 release. No release month or price for the PS5 version has been announced.
Perceptum uses environmental storytelling and the mirror to reveal the house’s history and plot details during exploration. Duck Reaction highlights sensory design and a persistent feeling of being watched as central elements of the experience.
