Persona 4 Revival PS5 Remake Gets Story Trailer

A story trailer for Persona 4 Revival premiered during Xbox’s Gamescom broadcast, showing new footage of the rural town of Inaba and the “Midnight Channel” urban legend.

Developed by P-Studio and published by Atlus, the title is a remake of Persona 4 Golden, itself an expanded release of the original Persona 4 on PlayStation 2. The remake was first announced during last year’s Xbox Showcase.

The trailer opens with a teenager moving to Inaba and depicts a series of mysterious incidents. It presents the Midnight Channel myth, which appears on rainy nights and is linked in the footage to a portal and a string of murders that characters investigate.

Gameplay elements from the original return, including turn-based combat and the Wild Card ability that lets the protagonist switch between multiple Personas. Each Persona provides different skills and exposes different weaknesses. Developers have indicated refinements to battle pacing and user interface elements.

Social Stats-listed in the trailer as Knowledge, Courage, Diligence, Kindness and Expression-return and affect story progression and character interactions. The trailer and developer notes show those stats can be increased by studying, taking part-time jobs and selecting different dialogue options.

Atlus and P-Studio said the remake includes updated visuals, a reworked soundtrack and interface improvements for current hardware. The trailer highlights these presentation changes alongside scenes meant to underline the title’s investigative and social-simulation components.

Persona 4 Revival is scheduled to release on February 18, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
