Phantom Blade Zero to show 20 minutes of PS5 gameplay

S-Game will show nearly 20 minutes of Phantom Blade Zero gameplay on PlayStation’s State of Play livestream on Aug. 17, 2026 at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET.

S-Game will reveal nearly 20 minutes of new gameplay for Phantom Blade Zero during PlayStation’s State of Play livestream on Aug. 17, 2026. The segment begins at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET and streams on PlayStation’s official channels.

Founder Liang “Soulframe” Zuo teased the appearance in a PlayStation blog post, and Sony listed the segment as an extended look at combat, world design and story elements. The preview comes ahead of Phantom Blade Zero’s Oct. 29, 2026 release on PC and PS5; pre-orders are available.

Players control a warrior named Soul who has been framed for his master’s death and faces a 66-day countdown to survive. The game blends wuxia mythology with modern graphics and takes place in a semi-open setting the studio calls the Phantom world, or Wulin.

S-Game described the combat system as “Kungfupunk,” combining traditional swordplay and fast martial-arts action set to modern rock. Developers say the title will include more than 30 weapons for players to master.

Action star Donnie Yen serves as creative consultant and appears in the game as Mó Yuan, the protagonist’s father. S-Game wrote the upcoming gameplay clip will show Yen’s involvement, the combat flow, and how the soundtrack and visuals interact with the martial-arts choreography.

Phantom Blade Zero was first announced at the 2023 PlayStation Showcase. The series began with 2010’s Rainblood: Town of Death and later expanded with mobile releases in China under the Phantom Blade name; Phantom Blade: Executioners reached a global audience in 2023.

Viewers can watch the nearly 20-minute playthrough on PlayStation’s official channels to learn about release editions, pre-order bonuses and technical details ahead of the October launch.
