Planet Zoo 2 for PS5 Adds Aviaries, Aquariums, Reserves

Frontier Developments announced Planet Zoo 2 for PlayStation 5, adding aviaries, aquariums and wildlife reserves. The game is due Oct. 13, 2026.

Frontier Developments announced Planet Zoo 2 for PlayStation 5 and released an in-engine announcement trailer. The studio set the release date for Oct. 13, 2026.

Planet Zoo 2 introduces dedicated aviary and aquarium systems to support flying and aquatic species. The game will let players build traditional zoo exhibits and larger wildlife reserves where animals can move through more naturalistic habitats.

The trailer, created with the game engine, shows environments and atmosphere but does not include raw gameplay or demonstrations of core systems such as animal behavior, visitor AI or building tools.

Players are expected to manage animal collections, design enclosures and add attractions to increase revenue and grow operations, continuing the zoo-management progression used in the original Planet Zoo and in Planet Coaster.

Frontier presented aviaries and aquariums as headline additions to expand species and exhibit types. The studio has not released a full list of animals, details on multiplayer or cross-play, or information on post-launch support and downloadable content.

Planet Zoo launched previously on PC and consoles with systems for animal care, guest services and economic management. Frontier is using its existing management and construction tools as the basis for the sequel’s systems.
