PlayStation Plus adds 90-minute Lego Batman trial

PlayStation Plus is offering a 1.5-hour free trial of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, letting subscribers play the game’s opening sections before buying.

Warner Bros. Games confirmed a 1.5-hour trial of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is live on PlayStation Plus’ trials page. The trial lets subscribers play the game’s opening sections for 90 minutes.

The opening sequence covers the origin of Bruce Wayne as a young Batman and includes early encounters with allies Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl and Catwoman, and with villains such as The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul and Bane.

The title is an open-world Lego game set in Gotham City. Players can move by grappling, gliding or driving, using a grapple launcher, the Batglider and a range of Batmobiles and Batcycles. The game supports local cooperative play and features a new combat system designed to reflect Batman’s fighting style.

Warner Bros. Games describes Gotham as an open-world Lego playground with crimes to stop, puzzles to solve, rewards to collect and surprises to find. The publisher says the Batcave can be customized to display vehicles, trophies and collectibles, and players can equip wearable Batsuits inspired by past Batman media.

Subscribers who buy the full game after the trial will continue from where the 90-minute session ends.

The trial is available now through the PlayStation Plus trials page to eligible subscribers.
