PlayStation Plus October games, Halloween packs arrive

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the October free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The three titles will be available to add to libraries from Oct. 6 via the PlayStation Store.

The lineup includes F1 25 for PS5, Hunt: Showdown 1896 for PS5, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 for PS5 and PS4. F1 25 is the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship and features single-player modes such as Career and My Team 2.0. Hunt: Showdown 1896 is an extraction shooter set in corrupted backwaters where players hunt monsters and face rival hunters alone or with teammates. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 has a stylized look and uses four-member squads assembled from collected teammates to fight giant enemies.

Sony is also offering seasonal in-game packs for subscribers. The Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle is claimable from Oct. 1, the Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack becomes available on Oct. 6, and the Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt plus five Tier skips pack is available from Oct. 7. Spider-Man Brand New Day avatars will be offered at no extra cost through Sony Pictures Core starting Oct. 6 for a limited time.

Two of the three free games are PS5-only; Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 supports both PS5 and PS4. Subscribers must add the games and promotional packs during their publishing windows to retain them in their libraries.
