Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration: Base Charizard, 30 Pikachu Foils
The Pokémon Company will release a 30th Celebration TCG expansion on Sept. 16, 2026, featuring a foil Base Set Charizard, Futuristic Mew and Mewtwo, and one of 30 foil Pikachu cards per pack.
The Pokémon Company revealed its 30th Celebration Trading Card Game expansion on June 1 and set a global launch for Sept. 16, 2026 in participating markets. The expansion includes a foil reissue of the Base Set Charizard, new Futuristic rare Mew and Mewtwo cards, and a guaranteed foil Pikachu card in every pack from a set of 30 designs.
A reveal video released by the company showed selected cards and confirmed that every card in the expansion will receive a full-foil treatment rather than standard non-foil printing. The video also presented reprints of high-profile cards, including a Team Up-era Pikachu and Zekrom pairing.
The Futuristic rare label applies to the new Mew and Mewtwo designs shown in the video. The designation distinguishes those newly styled cards from the throwback reproductions of older collectible art.
Each pack will include one of 30 distinct Pikachu foil cards. The release will be the first Pokémon TCG expansion to have a coordinated simultaneous launch across participating markets.
The company has discussed measures to limit scalping and improve purchase access. It has proposed using government ID checks in Japan and stated it aims to “provide all customers with fair and safe opportunities.” The company has not confirmed whether identity checks will be used for the 30th Celebration release.
Full product details, including pack sizes, set totals and pre-order windows, have not been disclosed. The company indicated it will provide additional distribution and sales information to collectors and retailers ahead of the Sept. 16 launch.
The 30th Celebration marks three decades since the Pokémon Trading Card Game’s debut and pairs new art directions with reproductions of some of the game’s most collectible imagery.
