Pragmata Director Wants a Sequel, But Capcom Will Decide
Yonghee Cho said he would welcome a Pragmata sequel but that Capcom and other stakeholders must decide; he is focused on promoting the game released about a month ago.
Yonghee Cho, director of Capcom’s Pragmata, said in a recent interview he would welcome a sequel but that the decision is not his to make. The game went on sale about a month ago, and his immediate priority is getting more people to play.
Cho added, “I honestly don’t know what the future holds. Like you said, it’s only been a month since Pragmata went on sale, so honestly, what I’m focused on is just trying to get as many people to experience Pragmata as I can. I’m focused on Pragmata itself.”
When asked directly about a follow-up, Cho replied, “Of course I’d love to see a sequel,” and noted he cannot decide alone. Any continuation would require agreement from Capcom and other stakeholders.
Pragmata launched earlier this year as a new intellectual property from Capcom. The development team is concentrating on supporting the current title and on promotional efforts to increase the player base.
Greenlighting additional entries typically involves reviewing sales figures, player engagement, available development resources and company strategy. Cho expressed creative interest in future installments but deferred the business decision to Capcom and other decision-makers.
