PS Plus Essential August games begin rolling out

PlayStation Plus Essential’s monthly free games for August have started appearing in regional PlayStation Stores, beginning in Japan and parts of Asia on Tuesday, August 4. The titles will be available in other regions when the local PS Store updates at noon local time.

Subscribers can claim Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition for PS5 and PS4, Big Walk on PS5 as a day-one release, and Signalis for PS4. Sony is offering the three games through the standard PlayStation Plus Essential tier rather than the Extra or Premium catalogs; Essential monthly titles are released across regions on the same date rather than being staggered.

Techland described the Reloaded Edition as a cumulative release that assembles more than two years of updates and additions. The studio noted the edition ‘benefits from new visual improvements and gameplay mechanics enhanced by the 10+ previous updates’ and that it includes the Bloody Ties story DLC.

All three titles can be claimed through the PlayStation Store once the monthly update reaches a subscriber’s region. Subscribers who have not claimed July’s free games have until the store refresh to add Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For the King II and CrossCode to their libraries under the monthly program.

PlayStation Plus Essential rotates its selection of full games each month. Availability for each region depends on the PlayStation Store update schedule, with new monthly titles appearing at noon local time.
