PS5 autumn 2026 releases packed ahead of GTA 6
Publishers moved many PS5 launch dates into Sept–Oct 2026 to avoid overlapping with GTA 6’s Nov. 19 release, concentrating major titles in the autumn window.
Major publishers have shifted numerous PlayStation 5 release dates into September and October 2026 to avoid overlapping with Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 6, which is scheduled for Nov. 19, 2026. The autumn PS5 calendar now contains many high-profile releases.
Titles with firm dates include Marvel’s Wolverine on Sept. 15, Silent Hill: Townfall and Control Resonant on Sept. 24, and Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 on Aug. 27. October entries include Ace Combat 8 on Oct. 2, Planet Zoo 2 on Oct. 13 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Oct. 23. Phantom Blade Zero was moved from an earlier September slot to Oct. 29. Smaller and mid-size publishers have also placed releases in the same weeks.
Publishers cited concern that the Nov. 19 release will dominate coverage, retail attention and player time, which led teams to schedule releases before that date. Some companies have adjusted windows in recent weeks and continue to revise plans.
The compressed schedule affects marketing calendars and digital storefront feature space as multiple campaigns target the same weeks. Overlapping launches concentrate consumer spending across a short period. Companies weigh production readiness, contractual obligations and sales forecasts when deciding whether to keep or change dates.
Several publishers have already moved dates and others are reviewing their autumn plans. If the Nov. 19 date changes or the autumn slate shifts, companies may move titles into November 2026 or into early 2027, depending on those production and commercial factors.
