PS5 Will Get Black Ops 1 and 2 in July — PS3 Ports

Treyarch confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops II will be ported to PlayStation for PS5 in July 2026. Iron Galaxy Studios is handling the ports, and each release will include Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies modes. Treyarch did not provide a specific day in July.

The studio described the releases as direct ports of the PS3 titles rather than remasters. Treyarch did not list rebuilt visuals, higher-resolution textures or extensive engine work as part of the ports. Activision has not announced pricing or whether the ports will include technical upgrades or performance improvements.

Some downloadable content entries have been removed from the PS3 PlayStation Store. Activision and Treyarch have not confirmed whether removed content will return, be bundled with the PS5 releases, or be sold separately on modern storefronts. There is no confirmation yet on separate PS4 versions.

The two games first launched on PS3 in 2010 and 2012. Updated versions are available on PC and Xbox; Treyarch indicated there are no planned PC or Xbox re-releases tied to this PlayStation update.

Key details remain outstanding: the exact release date in July, whether PS4 releases will be offered, which DLC will be included, and final pricing and technical specifications. Treyarch and Activision have not provided further information.
