PS5 To Get Dedicated Crunchyroll Hub In Spring 2027

Sony will add a dedicated Crunchyroll hub to the PS5 home screen in spring 2027, giving users direct access to anime and the streaming app.

Sony Interactive Entertainment will add a dedicated Crunchyroll hub to the PlayStation 5 home screen in spring 2027. The company has not announced a more specific release date.

The hub will let users discover anime, anime-inspired games and series linked to familiar characters or fictional worlds. It will also provide direct access to the full Crunchyroll app.

Sony described the feature as a way to bring gaming and anime closer together on the PS5. The company said it wants to reach fans “where they already are.”

“Anime and gaming have deeply engaged and overlapping fan communities, and the new experience will bring those worlds closer together on PlayStation 5,” Sony said in a press release.

The hub will be available to longtime anime viewers and players who find a series through a game, character or fictional world. Crunchyroll is already available on PlayStation consoles through its existing app.

Sony acquired Crunchyroll in 2020. The company also tested a separate PS5 home-screen redesign with selected users in April 2026. That update changed the layout and streamlined the interface before Sony removed it the following month. Sony has not provided further details about that redesign.
