PS5 Demo Lets Players Export Monsters to Dragon Quest Game

Square Enix released a free PS5 demo of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, letting players complete the Witherwood event and export items and eight monsters to the full game.

Square Enix has released a free demo for PlayStation 5 of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World. The demo covers the opening of the game and runs through the Witherwood event. The full game is scheduled to launch on December 3, 2026.

Players who finish the demo can move a Wrangler’s Bundle into the retail release. The bundle contains one Ring of Impulse, one Bonus Ball and five Smoked Sirloin, plus eight monsters obtained during demo play. Full demo save files cannot be carried over to the full game; only the specified items and monsters transfer.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World is a monster-collecting role-playing game focused on befriending, raising and using Dragon Quest creatures in combat. The title features a fusion system that combines monsters to form stronger variants. The demo provides a few hours of hands-on time with capturing, raising, fusion and battle systems.

The game supports online play for up to four players. Online features require a PlayStation Plus subscription. PS5 and PS Portal cloud streaming are available to Premium members only.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board rated the game E for Everyone and noted references to alcohol, fantasy violence and mild language in some dialogue. The demo is free to download on PlayStation 5.
