PS5 demo for Mashina is free on PlayStation Store
Mashina’s demo is free on the PlayStation Store for PS5 users ahead of the game’s May 29 release.
Mashina’s demo became available without charge on the PlayStation Store for PS5 users, allowing players to try the single-player digging adventure ahead of the console release on May 29.
The demo can be downloaded without a PlayStation Plus subscription. Early user reviews on the PlayStation Store gave the demo a 4.67 out of 5 rating. The PlayStation page does not state whether progress made in the demo will transfer to the full release, and the game’s final price on PlayStation has not been announced.
The game’s official overview describes the premise and structure: “You play as Mashina, a friendly mining robot tasked with finding minerals to help mend, build, and nurture her quirky robot community. The Gameplay in Mashina is divided into two distinct sections: a deep, mysterious underground full of trinkets and minerals, and a vibrant, fully explorable 3D Overground.” Players excavate minerals, gems and other items while switching between underground and overground areas.
Mashina is already available on PC, where it holds a “Very Positive” rating on Steam. A trailer released with the PC version highlights the game’s exploration and excavation mechanics. The PS5 demo is single-player and does not require online features to run.
