PS5 Demo for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Debuts
PlayStation Store is offering a free PS5 demo of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter that includes the opening chapter and transfers progress to the full release on Sept. 17, 2026.
GungHo Online Entertainment has released a free demo of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter for PS5 on the PlayStation Store. The demo is available to all PS5 users.
Developed by Nihon Falcom, the remake begins immediately after Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter and covers the opening chapter of the second game’s campaign. Progress and items earned in the demo will transfer to the full PS5 release on September 17, 2026. The publisher warns there may be minor differences between the demo build and the final product.
The demo’s plot description sets the scene: after a coup in the Kingdom of Liberl, Estelle and Joshua become senior bracers. On the eve of the Queen’s Birthday Festival Joshua reveals a dark truth and disappears, leaving Estelle to search for him with his harmonica and a determination to find him.
The demo includes a new opening movie for the remake and lets players sample updated graphics, combat and pacing ahead of the full release. The original Trails in the Sky games were developed for the PSP; this edition is a modern remake for PS5.
GungHo has not announced additional platform plans in the demo release notes. By transferring saves, the demo lets players move directly into the full game without replaying content completed in the trial.
