PS5 Demos: Screamer and Samurai Action Game Gurei Free

PS5 owners can download demos of Milestone’s Screamer and Lobo Sagaz’s Gurei from the PlayStation Store in all regions without a PS Plus subscription.

PlayStation 5 owners can download free demos of Milestone’s Screamer and Lobo Sagaz Studio’s Gurei from the PlayStation Store in all regions without an active PlayStation Plus subscription. Both demos are available now and let players sample early content before deciding whether to buy the full releases.

Screamer, developed by Milestone and released in March 2026, is a current-generation reboot of the 1995 racing title and the series’ first new entry since 2000. The Screamer demo grants access to the early events of the game’s Tournament. Demo save data cannot be transferred to the retail version, and the demo limits the number of modes, characters and tracks compared with the full game.

Gurei is developed by Lobo Sagaz Studio, features hand-drawn visuals and draws inspiration from Japanese chanbara films. According to the game’s official overview, “Rei, the main character, is a human spirit bound with the challenging duty of defeating mystical entities of nature, the Kami, to obtain their power.” Gurei’s demo is listed on the PlayStation Store now, and the full game is scheduled to launch on July 23, 2026. The demo listing does not state whether progress will carry over to the retail version.

Both demos can be downloaded directly on PS5 consoles from the PlayStation Store in every region and do not require an active PlayStation Plus subscription. Players can use the demos to evaluate gameplay, controls and presentation before purchasing the full games.

Screamer offers arcade-style racing focused on Tournament events, while Gurei centers on combat with supernatural themes and samurai-era aesthetics.
