PS5 owners get free Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue demo
PS5 users can download a free Prologue demo of Monster Hunter Wilds from the PlayStation Store with chapters 1-3, full character creator, all weapons, offline play and save transfer.
Capcom has released a free single-player Prologue demo of Monster Hunter Wilds on the PlayStation Store, available now to all PS5 owners without a PlayStation Plus subscription. The demo lets players progress through chapters 1-3 offline, use the full character creator and access every weapon type. Save files created in the Prologue can be transferred to the full game, and players do not need to finish the demo to move their progress.
Capcom noted that awards earned in the Prologue will carry over when transferring save data, but many trophies linked to those awards may require players to meet the trophy conditions again after transfer.
Alongside the demo release, Capcom revised the PlayStation Store listings, retiring some previous editions and adding two new options. The Standard Edition is listed at $39.99 and the Gold Edition, which includes all add-ons, is priced at $79.99. The Prologue remains free to download and does not require any subscription to play.
Monster Hunter Wilds is a 2025 action role-playing game from Capcom. The Prologue provides a single-player preview of the game’s early chapters, character customization and weapon systems while allowing players to carry progress into the full release. The demo is available for download on the PlayStation Store.
