CD Projekt RED will release The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered for PS5 on Sept. 29, 2026. Existing PS4 owners can claim the remaster free; it includes Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.
CD Projekt RED announced at Gamescom 2026 that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will arrive on PS5 on Sept. 29, 2026. The remaster will be free to owners of the PlayStation 4 version and includes the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions.
Current PS4 owners can download both expansions now and then claim the full remastered package on PS5 at no additional cost when it launches. The studio confirmed the remaster will support enhanced hardware, including the PS5 Pro.
The update combines technical and gameplay changes. CD Projekt RED listed visual enhancements and performance improvements alongside revamped combat, improved traversal and movement, new effects for Witcher signs, a transmog system, a reworked skill tree, expanded photo mode features and new finisher animations.
The studio also released a teaser for a new expansion, Songs of the Past, scheduled for 2027. The publisher provided an overview: “This idyllic land is rich in rural tradition and folklore, and its people enjoy a fulfilling life of bountiful harvests and lavish festivals. But a dark secret lurks just beneath the surface, and Geralt must overcome never-before-seen foes as he fights to overcome its long-dormant evil.”
CD Projekt RED announced a partnership with Blizzard Entertainment to bring a Geralt-inspired cosmetic to Diablo 4. The cosmetic will be unlocked for players who purchase Songs of the Past through Battle.net.
The Witcher 3 originally launched on PlayStation 4 in 2015. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine were released as paid expansions in 2015 and 2016, respectively. According to the studio, PS4 owners who download the expansions now should be able to claim the PS5 remaster without extra cost on Sept. 29, 2026.
