PS5’s Mixtape gets two-week PS Plus launch discount

Mixtape, a PS5 narrative adventure that launched yesterday, is on the PS Store at $17.99 for PS Plus members through May 22, down from $19.99.

Mixtape, developed by Beethoven & Dinosaur and published by Annapurna Interactive, launched yesterday for PS5. Sony and Annapurna are offering a two-week launch discount for PS Plus members at $17.99, a 10% reduction from the game’s $19.99 standard price. The offer is available on the PlayStation Store for PS5 purchases and expires on Friday, May 22. PS Plus Premium subscribers can also stream the game via cloud streaming.

The game is described as a short, nostalgia-focused narrative that follows three friends on their last night together. Promotional text reads: “On their last night together, three friends embark on one final adventure. Play through a mixtape of memories, set to the soundtrack of a generation.” Players move through a series of dreamlike reenactments and narrative vignettes tied to the characters’ formative moments.

Mixtape features licensed tracks from a range of alternative and post-punk artists. The soundtrack includes songs by DEVO, Roxy Music, Lush, The Smashing Pumpkins, Iggy Pop, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division and the Cure.

The title received positive reviews at launch, with critics noting its short runtime and nostalgic tone. The PS Plus discount is limited to purchases made through the PlayStation Store and ends May 22, after which the game will return to its full price of $19.99.
